Rennes-le-Château Myth – Official Part of Education?

Here's a good way of failing your exams at school, college and university – treat the Priory of Sion and the Rennes-le-Château Myth as if it was historical archaeological fact.
A few years ago people wrote on Wikipedia how students were failing their exams due to taking Conspiracy Theories seriously. And more recently tutors have been moaning about this problem on message board blogs as well, saying they are spending more time on discussing the difference between historical facts and the rubbish contained in such books – instead of actually teaching their pupils what they needed to learn (to pass their exams).
Martin Palmer may have written books about archaeology and history – but it would be absolute fibbing to claim he said it in relation to the Rennes-le-Château Myth and the Priory of Sion!
Perhaps someone should write a letter (or send an email) to Martin Palmer for his endorsement of the Priory of Sion and the Rennes-le-Château Myth – and while we are at it, we should also canvas as many archaeologists, historians and academics as possible to find out exactly how many of them endorse this “subject matter”!
My bet is that if you happen to be a member of an archeological society who takes all this spam seriously – that you would become isolated (at best) – or thrown out (at worst). I can see it now, someone seriously asking their local Archaeological Chief to consider a project for a dig at Rennes-le-Château and its environs...because of books like The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail.....
