On 10 April 2008 Jean-Michel QUILLARDET, Grandmaster of the Grand Orient de France, enjoyed an audience with Monsieur Bernard ACCOYER, President of the Assemblée Nationale.

The Grandmaster once again affirmed that any attack on the provisions of the Law of 1905, even if undertaken at a purely regulatory level, would constitute an unacceptable weakening of the principle of secularity.

The President of the Assemblée Nationale, in response, issued a clear reminder that it was in everyone’s interests to preserve the balance that was a feature of the Law of 1905.

In response to a question by the Grandmaster, the President of the Assemblée Nationale emphasised the importance that he attached to the MIVILUDES and to the struggle against religious cults. The Grandmaster of the Grand Orient de France congratulated him on this point.

The meeting concluded with a constructive discussion on the reform of governmental institutions and, in particular, the composition of the Conseil Économique et Social.

In this manner the Grandmaster of the Grand Orient de France continued his appointed task and his struggle to disseminate the beliefs of the Grand Orient de France

Jean-Michel QUILLARDET, Grand Maître du Grand Orient de France, a été reçu le 10 avril 2008 par Monsieur Bernard ACCOYER, Président de l’Assemblée Nationale.

Le Grand Maître a à nouveau affirmé que toute atteinte aux dispositions de la loi de 1905, même de manière réglementaire, serait une remise en cause du principe de laïcité, inacceptable.

Le Président de l’Assemblée Nationale a, en réponse, clairement rappelé l’intérêt qu’il y avait pour tous à préserver l’équilibre de la loi de 1905. Suite au questionnement du Grand Maître, le Président de l’Assemblée Nationale a manifesté l’importance qu’il attachait à la «MIVILUDES» et à la lutte contre les sectes. Le Grand Maître du Grand Orient de France s’en est félicité.

Une discussion constructive sur la réforme des Institutions et en particulier sur la composition du Conseil Économique et Social a conclu l’entretien.

Le Grand Maître du Grand Orient de France continue ainsi sa tâche et son combat pour faire partager les convictions du Grand Orient de France.
